A6 saddle stitch brochures put your message into a pocket-sized booklet that is easy to post, hand out and keep.
At 105 × 148mm, A6 is roughly postcard size. Nobody has to make room for it. It sits by a till, drops into a shopping bag or tucks inside a product box as an instruction booklet or care guide.
That makes it a practical choice for loyalty booklets, gig and festival programmes, product inserts, walking guides and pocket price lists. Staples along the spine hold the pages together through repeated use, with up to 80 pages available.
Choose portrait or landscape to suit your content. The small page rewards a focused layout: one product, offer or instruction per spread gives your message room to breathe.
Print in full colour for photographs and illustrations, choose Pantone ink matching for specific brand colours, or keep things simple with black-only printing for manuals and text-led guides.
Choose a paper stock to suit your booklet:
For booklets that spend time in pockets and bags, cover lamination adds protection. Anti-scuff helps reduce visible wear, while soft-touch creates a soft, velvety finish. Matt, silk and gloss laminates offer different levels of sheen.
Add spot UV to highlight selected details, or foiling for a metallic accent on your cover.

Saddle stitching is a bookbinding method which is very similar to stapling. This method assembles brochure pages by first nesting several folded double-leaf spreads on top of each other (starting with the middlemost pages and finishing with the outer cover leaf).
The brochure pages are then stitched together by threading lengths of metal wire (similar to staples) through all pages along the central crease line.
Saddle-stitched brochures are cost-effective to produce, and can be laid fairly flat while open; which means the inner edge of the print won’t get lost in the spine area of the brochure. The latter also makes them ideal for hands-free publications, such as instruction booklets and guides.
You can view our page count options in the table below. Each paper sheet (or ‘leaf’) of your brochure will have two printed pages (pp); one on each side of the paper. Brochure covers consist of four pages, and are included in addition to the page counts listed in the table below.

Saddle-stitched brochures are available in the following standard sizes. Please note that these measurements refer to the size of the brochure when closed:

The right print method will depend on a number of factors; including the product type, quantity and turnaround time you require.
Better Printing can produce your order on either litho or digital, with both available in-house. Our sales team can recommend the most cost-effective solution for your needs and will confirm your preferred method before going to print.
All brochures and booklets are produced in portrait orientation (with the spine located on the longer edge of the booklet) by default. Alternatively, you can specify landscape orientation for your brochures if needed at the checkout stage.
We recommend supplying artwork as single pages in the same order as you want them to appear in the finished brochure. Please avoid supplying your artwork in printer’s pairs or double page spreads, as this may extend production times of your print order.
Small print jobs often get passed down a chain of subcontractors. Ours never leave the building. Better Printing belongs to the InPrint Group, founded in 1986 and still family-run, printing from a 20,000 square foot site in Southampton with over 50 staff across design, press and finishing. Litho presses take care of long, colour-critical runs while digital handles short runs quickly and affordably, and ISO-certified processes govern quality and sustainability throughout.
You can reach a real person 24 hours a day, six days a week, and our record on urgent deadlines is the reason thousands of UK businesses, from startups to national brands, keep printing with us.
