Uncoated Brochures

Looking for something a little bit different? Our A4 and A5 uncoated brochures make a great, understated alternative to the usual glossy brochures.

Uncoated brochure printing options

Uncoated paper is more absorbent than the standard silk and gloss counterparts, so the ink seeps into the fibres of the paper. Images printed on uncoated paper tend to be softer and warmer and less sharply defined; ideal if you want a more rustic, natural feel to your product.

All our full colour A5 and A4 uncoated brochure booklets are printed on 170gsm uncoated as standard. Strong staples are then inserted in the spine to bind the brochure pages together. Bespoke sizes and paper material options are available on request – please see the Specifications tab for more details .

Create a truly unique design and complete it with some of our additional finishing options. Add Spot UV, foiling (10 colours available), debossing or embossing to draw attention to your company name, logo or contact information. Add perforated sections to easily provide tear-out coupons or vouchers.

Create your own online brochure printing design using our free, downloadable brochure templates or take advantage of our in house design services.

FAQs

What materials are these products printed on?

Please see the Specification tab for more information on this product’s standard material specification. Alternative stocks and grades can be supplied for most products to help you customise your order – simply get in touch to discuss your print requirements.

How are uncoated brochures bound?

Our standard uncoated brochures are bound together via saddle-stitching. This method assembles brochure pages by first nesting several folded double-leaf spreads on top of each other (starting with the middlemost pages and finishing with the outer cover leaf).

The brochure pages are then stitched together by threading lengths of metal wire (similar to staples) through all pages along the central crease line.

Better Printing can also provide uncoated brochures with other binding methods including perfect binding – call us to discuss your requirements!

How many pages can my uncoated brochures have?

You can view our page count options in the table below. Each paper sheet (or ‘leaf’) of your brochure will have two printed pages (pp); one on each side of the paper. Brochure covers consist of four pages, and are included in addition to the page counts listed in the table below.

If you’re still unsure about page counts, or you need a different number of pages to the options here, call us on 023 8087 8037 to discuss your requirements.

What sizes are available?

Better Printing offers A5 (148mm by 210mm) and A4 (210mm by 297mm) sizes as standard. Please note that these measurements refer to the size of the brochure when closed.

Custom uncoated brochure sizes are also available; so if you have a different size in mind, call us on 023 8087 8037 to discuss our bespoke options.

Will my uncoated brochures be printed via litho printing or digital printing methods?

The right print method will depend on a number of factors; including the product type, quantity and turnaround time you require.

Better Printing can produce your order on either litho or digital, with both available in-house. Our sales team can recommend the most cost-effective solution for your needs and will confirm your preferred method before going to print.

What imposition/page format should I use for my artwork?

We recommend supplying artwork as single pages in the same order as you want them to appear in the finished brochure. Please avoid supplying your artwork in printer’s pairs or double page spreads, as this may extend production times of your print order.

How do I select portrait or landscape?

All uncoated brochures are produced in portrait orientation (with the stitching along the longer edge of the brochure) as standard, but you can specify landscape orientation if required at the checkout stage.

Do you offer recycled brochure printing?

Yes – we can print on recycled stock for a more eco friendly brochure. Just get in touch with our friendly team today!
