A6 Perfect Bound Books put a fully bound, square-spined book in the palm of a hand, small enough to post through a letterbox in a standard envelope yet finished like something off a bookshop shelf.
At roughly postcard size, A6 suits print that travels. Pocket guides, mini portfolios, membership handbooks, gift books and mailer-friendly catalogues all work at this scale, and because the glued spine sits flat and square, even a slim A6 book feels substantial rather than flimsy.
Despite the small page, the full print spec applies. Run your job in black only, full colour, matched Pantones, or up to 6 colours combining CMYK with 2 Pantones for tightly controlled brand work. Cover print comes outside only or double-sided, which at this size is worth using, as inside covers make handy spots for QR codes, opening hours or a short welcome note.
Paper choices for pages and covers:
Laminates in matt, gloss, silk, soft-touch or anti-scuff protect covers that will live in pockets and bags, where scuffing happens fastest. Spot UV and foiling turn a small cover into something people turn over in their hands.

Additional options:
Perfect binding is a method of bookbinding, where the pages are simply placed in a vertical stack and glued to the spine of your booklet using flexible glue. The outer edges of your booklet are then simultaneously trimmed to create a ‘perfect’ clean edge.
The perfect binding method offers greater flexibility and creative freedom at a relatively affordable price. Your book can have an even or odd number of pages, and each page can use a different paper stock or colour.
Presentation-wise, perfect bound books also offer identical page size and presentation, with no need to adjust your design for trim creep.
Perfect bound books also offer a spine which can be printed on – so in a stack or shelf of books, yours can still stand out!
You can view our page count options in the table below. Each paper sheet (or ‘leaf’) of your book will have two printed pages (pp); one on each side of the paper.
If you’re still unsure about page counts, or you need a different number of pages to the options here, call us on 023 8087 8037 to discuss your requirements.
Perfect bound books are available in the following standard sizes. Please note that these measurements refer to the size of the brochure when closed:

The right print method will depend on a number of factors; including the product type, quantity and turnaround time you require.
Better Printing can produce your order on either litho or digital, with both available in-house. Our sales team can recommend the most cost-effective solution for your needs and will confirm your preferred method before going to print.
All brochures and booklets are produced in portrait orientation (with the spine located on the longer edge of the booklet) by default. Alternatively, you can specify landscape orientation for your brochures if needed at the checkout stage.
We recommend supplying artwork as single pages in the same order as you want them to appear in the finished brochure. Please avoid supplying your artwork in printer’s pairs or double page spreads, as this may extend production times of your print order.
Better Printing belongs to the InPrint Group, printing in Southampton since 1986. Small format work rewards a printer with proper finishing kit, because binding and trimming an A6 book cleanly is harder than it looks, and our in-house team of over 50 has spent decades getting it right. Design, lithographic and digital presses, finishing and dispatch all sit inside our 20,000 square foot facility, so no stage of your job leaves our control. Add ISO-certified quality and sustainability standards, support available 24 hours a day, six days a week, and on-time delivery that thousands of UK businesses rely on for urgent jobs, and you have a safe pair of hands for a small book.
