Gate fold brochure printing options
Our close gate fold brochures are available in folded sizes A5, A4 and A3, and are printed on 150gsm silk paper as standard. However, you can choose your preferred material: opt for gloss paper for a slight sheen and added aesthetic or recycled or Kraft paper for an eco-friendly product (for full range of materials please see the specifications tab).
Print single or double sided, in full colour, Pantone or black and white. For added aesthetic and durability, add your choice of lamination: silk, gloss, matt or soft-touch (for a velvety, decadent feel).

FAQs
What do gate-fold and close gate-fold mean?
A standard gate-fold brochure is similar to a 6-page presentation folders, but with a lighter default paper stock, no internal pocket or flap for storing documents, and a unique front cover which opens outwards like a set of gates or saloon doors.
With a standard gate-fold, you get a brochure which features two fold creases; creating two full-size pages or panels, and four half-sized pages or panels.
A close gate-fold brochure adds a third fold crease in the middle, splitting the two full-size pages or panels into four half-size panels for a total of eight half-size pages. Essentially, it turns your brochures into large-scale folded leaflets!
How are gate-fold brochures supplied?
Both our standard gate-fold and close gate-fold brochures are typically supplied flat and pre-creased for easy folding. Better Printing can also deliver your brochures ready-folded if you prefer – additional fees may apply. Call us on 023 8087 8037 for more information.

What sizes are available?
Our standard gate-fold brochures are available in the following sizes. Please note that each folder is printed flat on the next paper size up, then creased to fold up to the finished size:
- A5 (finished size approx. 148mm by 210mm, flat size 210mm by 297mm
- A4 (finished size approx. 210mm by 297mm, flat size 297mm by 420mm)
- A3 (finished size approx. 297mm by 420mm, flat size 420mm by 594mm)
Please note that for close gate-fold brochures, the finished size when completely folded will be approximately half the length or width of the finished sizes quoted in the table. The flat sizes will remain the same.

Will my gate-fold brochures be printed via litho printing or digital printing methods?
The right print method will depend on a number of factors; including the type of product, your desired quantity and the turnaround time you require.Better Printing can produce your order on either litho or digital, with both available in-house. Our sales team can recommend the most cost-effective solution for your needs and will confirm your preferred method before going to print.
How do I select portrait or landscape?
All brochures and booklets are produced in portrait orientation (with the spine located on the longer edge of the booklet) by default. Alternatively, you can specify landscape orientation for your brochures if needed at the checkout stage.
How do I select standard gate-fold or close gate-fold?
Gate-fold brochure orders are printed as standard gate-folds by default, but you can specify a close gate-fold design at the checkout stage if required.
What imposition/page format should I use for my artwork?
Arranging your artwork can be tricky for gate-fold; particularly when it comes to splitting your artwork across the two front covers. If you need assistance with your design, try following the free templates available from the Templates tab above or call our helpful sales team.
