With Better Printing you can print your own bespoke glossy magazine without breaking the bank. Take a look at our magazine printing services and create your own high quality periodical.
Magazine printing options
Our professionally printed magazines use 130gsm silk paper on the inner pages, with a 300gsm cover as standard, but other options are available – please see the Specifications tab for further details.
Full colour or black and white, these professionally printed magazines are available in A4 or A5, in either portrait or landscape format as standard, but other sizes are available upon request. Our custom printed magazines offer 8 – 40 pages, as standard. However, we can accommodate any type of publication you may need, with lots of finishing and styling options available.
Create Gloss, Matt or Soft-Touch laminated magazines, or add foiling (choose from ten colours), embossing or debossing. Add perforated lines within the pages to create tear-out coupons, vouchers or forms.
Create your own magazine design using our free, downloadable magazine templates or take advantage of our in house design services.

Alternative printed magazine uses
As an experienced magazine printing company, we know how to create the perfect periodical for your company, charity or business. Many magazine printers have limited options when it comes to unique design elements – not us!
Create your own bespoke design using our templates, add finishing options, choose your paper stock, pick your size – we can even offer bespoke die cut shaping, if you’d prefer to think outside the (rectangular) box!
Print your magazine with QR codes easily linking customers to your online products or more information. Opt for variable data to add individual elements to each unique page – including numbers, text or graphics.
Our custom printed magazines come with fast, free delivery and quick order turnaround.

What sizes are available?
Better Printing offers A5 (148mm by 210mm) and A4 (210mm by 297mm) magazine sizes as standard. Please note that these measurements refer to the size of the magazine when closed.
Custom magazine sizes are also available; so if you have a different size in mind, call us on 023 8087 8037 to discuss our bespoke options.
How are magazines bound?
Our standard magazines are bound together via saddle-stitching. This method assembles brochure pages by first nesting several folded double-leaf spreads on top of each other (starting with the middlemost pages and finishing with the outer cover leaf).
The brochure pages are then stitched together by threading lengths of metal wire (similar to staples) through all pages along the central crease line.
Better Printing can also print your magazine content in other binding formats if required, including perfect binding – simply get in touch to discuss your project requirements.
How many pages can my magazines have?
You can view our page count options in the table below. Each paper sheet (or ‘leaf’) of your brochure will have two printed pages (pp); one on each side of the paper. Magazine covers consist of four pages, and are included in addition to the page counts listed in the table below.
Looking for a different page count to the options listed here? Simply call us on 023 8087 8037 to discuss your own bespoke specifications.
Will my magazines be printed via litho or digital print methods?
The right print method will depend on a number of factors; including the product type, quantity and turnaround time you require.
Better Printing can produce your order on either litho or digital, with both available in-house. Our sales team can recommend the most cost-effective solution for your needs and will confirm your preferred method before going to print.
What materials are these products printed on?
Please see the Specification tab for more information on this product’s standard material specification. Alternative stocks and grades can be supplied for most products to help you customise your order – simply get in touch to discuss your print requirements.
How do I select portrait or landscape?
All magazines are printed in portrait orientation (with the spine located on the longer edge of the booklet) by default.
If you’re looking to set your magazines apart from the rest, you might like to print them in landscape format – this can be specified at the checkout stage if you need it.
What imposition or page order format should I use for my artwork?
We recommend supplying artwork as single pages in the same order as you want them to appear in the finished programme. Please avoid supplying your artwork in printer’s pairs or double page spreads, as this may extend production times of your print order.
How do you keep costs low?
Magazine printing costs can be very variable, depending on what goes in to create your periodical. We keep our magazine printing cost low by doing everything under one roof – from design to print, our team of experts are all situated in one place (in our factory in Southampton). As such, we don’t need to spend money on outsourcing – and those savings are passed onto the customer.
