Frequently Asked Questions

Roller banners (pull-up banners) are the most popular event display in the UK. This FAQ covers sizes, materials, design tips, pricing and turnaround.

A roller banner — also called a pull-up banner or pop-up banner — is a portable display stand with a printed graphic that retracts into a lightweight base. They're ideal for exhibitions, trade shows, events, retail promotions and reception areas.
There's no difference — they're the same product. 'Roller banner' is the most common UK term, 'pull-up banner' is widely used internationally, and 'retractable banner' is common in the US.
Roller banners are cost-effective, lightweight, portable and quick to set up. They deliver maximum brand visibility from a small footprint — making them perfect for events, shops, conferences and reception areas.

Most standard roller banners are 800mm or 850mm wide and 2m tall. Wider options like 1000mm, 1200mm and extra-wide 1500mm+ banners are available, alongside double-sided versions for two-sided visibility.
850×2000mm is the most popular size in the UK — compact enough to transport and tall enough to make impact. Wider 1000mm and 1200mm banners are popular for exhibition stands.
High-quality roller banners are printed on anti-curl, anti-glare PVC or polyester film. These materials produce vibrant colour, prevent edge curl and ensure a professional finish that lasts for years.

Keep important content (logo, headline, key message) at eye level — between 800mm and 1600mm from the base. Use bold, brand-aligned colours, large readable fonts and high-resolution imagery. Always follow the printer's bleed and safe-area template.
The bottom 100–150mm of the artwork sits inside the base mechanism and shouldn't contain critical content. Keep logos and key messaging at least 200mm above the bottom edge.

Yes — roller banners are designed for repeated use and last for years with proper storage. Premium models also allow you to replace the graphic cassette without buying a new stand.

Standard roller banners are designed for indoor use. Outdoor roller banners with weighted, wider bases and weatherproof materials are available for external displays — ideal for events and shop forecourts.

Roller banners are very affordable, starting from around £40 for budget options. Premium and wide-format versions cost £100 or more, depending on size, base quality and material.
Most printers deliver standard roller banners within 2–5 working days. Express and next-day delivery is widely available for urgent event orders.
